‘Israel’ Orders Palestinian Families To Leave Their Homes For Military Training

Jordan Valley (Palestine Online)- Israeli occupation authorities ordered several Palestinian families in the northern occupied Jordan Valley to leave their homes for ten days so military training can be held in the area.

According to the Wafa news agency, the Israeli occupation army issued notices to a number of local residents in the village of Khirbet Ibzeq, located near the northeastern West Bank city of Tubas, ordering them to leave their homes as of today.

The families now face finding temporary accommodation during the bitter winter cold.

They also fear the drills will set fire to large tracts of farmland and property in the northern Jordan Valley, which will result in substantial losses.

The Palestinian community in the Jordan Valley is subject to daily harassment by occupation forces and settlers in an effort to force them to leave the area in order to annex it and expand illegal settlements.

Since 1967, when the Israeli army occupied the West Bank, the occupation state has transferred at least 11,000 of its Jewish citizens to the Jordan Valley. Some of the settlements in which they live were built almost entirely on private Palestinian land.
